Is it actually free?
Yes. Here's exactly how the trial works.
You get full access to the plan you choose for 14 days at no cost. We ask for payment details at signup so the subscription can start automatically on day 15 — but nothing is taken from your card until then.
If you cancel before day 15, you pay nothing at all. No tricks, no partial charges.
It keeps the trial simple — when your 14 days are up, your subscription just starts without you having to do anything. If you decide Dentifier isn't for you, just cancel before day 15 and your card is never charged.
Payment is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
You get full access to all features on the plan you signed up for. If you choose Professional, you get everything — including logo upload, advanced reports, and CSV export. Nothing is held back during the trial.
Starter — £25/month. Unlimited quotes and invoices, full AI-enhanced assessment, DVLA lookup, payment integration, customisable pricing matrix, basic reporting. Includes Dentifier branding on customer documents.
Professional — £35/month. Everything in Starter, plus your own logo (Dentifier branding removed), advanced reports with date range and client filters, CSV export for accounting software, priority support, and early access to new features.
Yes, no minimum term, no cancellation fee. Cancel any time from your account settings. If you cancel mid-month you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade from your account settings at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period.
Dentifier is currently available to UK customers. Pricing is in GBP and the DVLA vehicle lookup is UK-specific. International pricing is in development — if you're outside the UK you can join the waitlist and we'll let you know when your region is supported.
What does Dentifier actually do?
The short version: it turns a 20-minute quoting process into 2 minutes.
Detailed AI-enhanced assessment. Upload damage photos, select the panel, damage type, size, depth, repair method, and any complicating factors. Dentifier runs your inputs through your pricing matrix and generates a quote with AI-written assessment notes that explain the repair to your customer. Best for retail customers who want to understand what they're paying for.
Per-panel pricing. Select panels and apply your preset per-panel rates. Photos are optional. Fast and straightforward — ideal for dealer work or when you already know the job and just need to get a number out quickly.
The pricing matrix is your rate card. It sets a base price for each combination of damage type and size range — for example, a Standard Dent at 26–50mm might be £120. The system then applies multipliers based on repair method, depth, whether a body line is affected, stretched metal, and panel material.
Dentifier comes with a pre-loaded UK pricing matrix you can use straight away or adjust to match your local rates. You have full control — you can edit every value, add your own damage types, and set your own size ranges.
No — the AI never sets your prices. Your pricing matrix does the calculation based on the parameters you select. The AI has two roles: it writes the assessment notes that describe the repair to your customer in plain language, and it analyses the job against your skill level and experience to flag any risks or complications.
You always review everything before sending. The final price, the notes, the line items — all editable before anything goes to a customer.
Enter a UK registration number and Dentifier automatically fills in the vehicle make, year, colour, and VIN. Saves you typing it all out manually for every job. You add the model manually (the DVLA API doesn't return model data). Works for UK-registered vehicles only.
Yes. Any quote can have additional line items added — polishing, paint correction, headlamp restoration, or any other service you provide. You set the price and description. These appear as separate line items on the customer's quote and invoice, keeping things clear and itemised.
Yes to both. You can add multiple damage items to a single assessment — each with its own panel, size, and parameters — and they all appear as separate line items on the quote. You can also add multiple vehicles to a single quote, useful for fleet or dealer work.
When you set up your account, you enter your experience level, which tools you have, what damage types you're confident with, and whether you work on aluminium. Dentifier analyses each job against that profile and warns you if the damage is more complex than your stated skill level would typically handle.
These warnings are only visible to you — they never appear on customer-facing documents. It's there to stop you committing to a job you might struggle with, protecting your reputation and your wallet.
Yes. Dentifier calculates a time range for each job based on damage type, size, repair method, depth, and any complicating factors. You see this as a range — for example "1 hr 15 mins – 2 hrs" — which helps you plan your day and price your time accurately. The estimate is tech-facing only and does not appear on customer PDFs or quotes.
Sending quotes and getting paid
Three ways. You can download the PDF and send it manually, use the in-app email option which prepares the quote as an email ready to review and send, or use the share button to get a text version you can paste into WhatsApp, Messenger, or SMS. Most techs use the share button for WhatsApp and email for more formal customers.
A branded, professional document showing your business details, the customer and vehicle, all line items with descriptions and individual prices, subtotal and total, and optionally the assessment notes explaining the repair. On the Professional tier it carries your logo with no Dentifier branding. On Starter it includes Dentifier branding.
When you mark a job as Completed, Dentifier automatically converts the quote to an invoice. It gets a new invoice number, the PDF regenerates as an invoice with payment details included, and it moves from your Quotes list into your Invoices list. No manual re-entry needed.
Draft → Ready → Sent → Approved → Completed. A quote moves to Ready when a customer is assigned, and to Sent when the email goes out. You update Approved and Completed manually as the job progresses. Declined is also available if a customer doesn't go ahead.
Completed jobs appear in your Invoices tab. Everything else stays in Quotes.
Yes. The calculated price is always editable before you send anything. You can adjust individual line item prices up or down — useful for loyal customers, repeat work, or those awkward jobs where the matrix alone doesn't quite fit. Adjustments only affect that quote, not your underlying pricing matrix.
Yes, it's a toggle. Assessment notes explain the repair to the customer — things like "Restricted access noted. Medium depth dent — a good repair result is expected." Some techs include them to build trust and justify pricing. Others prefer to keep the quote clean and simple. Your choice on each quote.
Taking payment from customers
Stripe, Square, and PayPal. You connect your own provider account — Dentifier generates payment links for the exact invoice amount which are included in the invoice PDF and email. If you prefer bank transfer, you can use that too, or both options together.
Payment integration is included on both Starter and Professional.
No. Dentifier does not take any percentage of your customer payments. You pay a flat monthly subscription and all customer payments go directly to your own Stripe, Square, or PayPal account. Any payment processing fees are between you and your payment provider.
Payment status is tracked separately on each invoice — Pending Payment or Paid. You update it manually when payment comes in. The Invoices screen has a Paid / Unpaid filter so you can see at a glance what's outstanding.
Before your first quote
The onboarding wizard takes most people 10–15 minutes. You set your business name and contact details, banking details for bank transfer payment, your pricing matrix (or just use the pre-loaded UK rates), and your technician profile — experience level, tools, skills. After that you're ready to create your first quote.
You can skip sections and come back to them — Dentifier will remind you if something important is missing.
No. Dentifier comes with a pre-loaded pricing matrix based on standard UK PDR rates. You can start using it immediately without changing anything, or customise every value to match your own pricing. You can also add your own damage types and size ranges if your work doesn't fit the defaults.
Minimum: their name. Everything else can be filled in manually — vehicle make, model, and colour can all be typed in directly. If they have a UK registration number handy, the DVLA lookup fills in make, year, and colour automatically, saving you some typing — but it's not required.
Photos of the damage are useful for the detailed assessment but optional if you're using per-panel pricing or have already seen the car in person.
Absolutely. On Starter, the Dentifier logo appears at the top of every quote and invoice alongside your business name and contact details, with a small Dentifier note in the footer. It looks clean and professional — most sole traders are happy with it.
On Professional, the Dentifier logo is removed entirely. If you've uploaded your own logo it appears top-left. If you haven't uploaded one yet, your business name and contact details appear there instead — no Dentifier branding at the top at all. The small footer note remains on both tiers.
How it works under the hood
Yes — Dentifier is designed to be used on your phone. The workflow is built around mobile use: take photos with your camera, fill in damage details with taps and dropdowns, and send a quote from the same screen. It also works on tablet and desktop if you prefer to manage your admin from a bigger screen.
No. Dentifier runs in your browser at app.dentifierpro.com — nothing to install. On iOS and Android you can add it to your home screen from your browser for a near-app experience with one tap access.
No. Your data is completely private to your account. Every customer record, vehicle, quote, and invoice belongs only to you and is inaccessible to any other user on the platform. Data isolation is built into the architecture — it's not an optional setting.
Not currently. Dentifier requires an internet connection to generate quotes, run the DVLA lookup, and save your data. If you're working somewhere without signal, you can take the photos and fill in details as soon as you're back online. Offline mode is on the future roadmap.
Professional tier users can export job data as CSV, which you can open in Excel or import into accounting software. The export includes invoice number, date, client name, vehicle, total amount, VAT amount, payment status, and payment date — giving you a complete dated record of your income throughout the year, which is exactly what you need for Making Tax Digital quarterly updates.
Professional also includes a Customer Statement feature. If you have a customer you've invoiced multiple times, you can pull up their full invoice history from the Reporting area, filter by all, paid, or unpaid, and generate a professional PDF statement showing each invoice with its payment status and payment date. You can download it or send it directly from the app — useful for chasing outstanding balances or giving a customer a clear picture of their account.
Basic reporting and job history is available on Starter. Full Xero integration is on the development roadmap.
Managing your subscription
From Settings → My Subscription inside the app. You can view your current plan, compare tiers, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. Billing details are managed securely through Stripe's customer portal.
Yes. You can set your VAT status and rate in Settings. When VAT is enabled, the quote and invoice calculation follows the correct order — subtotal, then discount if applicable, then VAT on the discounted net — which keeps everything HMRC-compliant.
Email us at support@dentifierpro.com. Professional subscribers get priority support. We aim to respond to all queries within one business day.
